Back to KL with a bit of info on my 404 project. Actually the Ah P’s 404 is not in working condition. It was left to rust in the humid air of tropical country.
On Thursday evening, my 3rd uncle called, “lets go see the car.” So I drive my mother faithful Proton Saga Megavalve year 1990 (will it someday acquire the classic status?) to my uncle place. Picked him up and his 2 sons and a daughter followed (all below 10 years old).
My little cousin said “why don’t you buy a more beautiful car.” Some day my dear cousin some day… you will understand the beauty of a classic car. Seems like my young cousins don’t understand yet why I like old car. Actually she (5 to 6 years old) also went to see a Mercedes 200D in Besut. Followed her father my 3rd uncle. Someday my dear cousin someday…. You will know the beauty of a fintail models.
Actually the Ah Po’s 404 once owned by my 2nd uncle. He sold to some tauke in Tanah Merah. Some how the tauke sold the car to Ah Po. Then Ah Po overhauled the engine to sell it. But no one seems to appreciate this french beauty. So he just let it there, under the sun. what a pity.
For a RM400 I think it is worth it. Since the engine is still there. Mostly. Hopefully still can be used. I will ask my uncle to haul it back to my place in kelantan first. Then I will think of the next move.
the front bonnet. the 404 is loose. some screws is missing?? focus on the signals. it is modified by my uncle. the original indicator cover is much smaller.
in the garage for years....... dusty. very dusty. but the body is still in good shape.
